Chris & Iron-N-Ink

Once again little Christopher has come out to play.  First we took him to Manhattan Beach so he can enjoy the breeze in his 'frohawk.
Then we took him to Long Beach
to help him get his music/car/tattoo festival on at Ink-N-Iron (the ink is for the tattoo part, the iron for the car part, the n is for the tuNes?)

As none of us have had any ink done we were a little out of place, but we all had a real good time checking out the really cool cars and rockin' out to the hip music.  This is where all the rockin' went down.
Here's some swingin' wheels.
This one's mine.
The backside.
In case you couldn't make out the detail in the tail lights.
Chris was the eagle eye and spotted the FREE bumper cars! oh yeah!!!!

I didn't get a picture of Chris' ride, but it was similar to this one except it had a raccoon tail hanging from it and a coke bottle for the coolant reservoir.
Here's some totally random band that was decked out in some crazy body paint.
This car was amazing and had pinstriped flames.

Here's Andrea's boat because she's too cool to pick a car.
Oh yeah, then she picked this car.  So now she has a car and a boat and Chris and I only have a car :(

She's so sneaky!

And what was the main reason we came to this happenin' little shin dig?  You'll have to find out in an upcoming post!

Nick & Pat

Let's see, we can pay to go to a concert that is jammed pack with stinky, sweaty people or go see the main act for free?  Tough decision but ended up going to a record shop to see Nick 13, the lead singer of Tiger Army, perform.

There were more people than I expected, but I'm sure it was more pleasant than if we had gone to one of his concerts.

We are also now proud owners of an autographed CD, fancy!

Patra's is a little burger place that was on Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution that's not too far from where the performance was, so afterward we moseyed on over to rustle up some grub.

Here's our attempt to get in touch with our inner paparazzi - the owner of Patra's.

The main event, one Revolution Burger and one Green Goddess Burger.

It was pretty good but I can't see going all the way to the other side of the world for it.

Missin' Shamu

We had such a fun time at SeaWorld we had to go back!!!

It’s a good thing too because there is so much to do there it would have been pretty difficult to cram into one day.

We got to see a little Cirque du Soile show (cleverly titled Cirque du Mere)

and saw a few of these things pop up in the sky every now and again.
I am guessing it was for the opening of the X-Men movie that came out.

Andrea is playing with some sea stars here.

With the sea otters

I noticed seals look like fat little water sausages and thus decided I like sea lions more than seals.

A feeding “frenzy” featuring ferocious piranhas.  These guys are no joke! I’ve seen cartoon and over the top movie versions of these guys devour things, but actually seeing them do it is unreal.

Manta rays are pretty crazy – they look like underwater birds the way they glide around.

Some little sharkies.

You can sort of see a monitor lizard where the flash is reflecting off the glass. I ate a cousin of his in the Philippines.
(Ang sarap ng adobong biyawak)
We got SOAKED by Shamu.

TMNT!

We got to check out a little preview of Turtle Reef – a new part of SeaWorld that was going to be opening a few weeks after our trip.

Luckily we decided to stop by the polar bears again because this time they were actually walking around!

These two penguins thought they could get away with snugglin in the dark – little did they know, I had a flash.
